    ZODIAC, KAYAKING, CAMPING AND MORE

This 5-Day trip includes a first night in a Quadra Island Resort. On Day 2 you will experience a 4 hour exploration in a covered boat or zodiac that extends the trip into areas beyond the reach of our kayaks. This maximizes your immersion into areas known for spectacular wildlife encounters. Combining two of the prime reasons to visit this region: its abundant population of Orcas, Humpback Whales, Dolphins, and Seals and the remote beauty of the wilderness, this adventure is unforgettable.

Your trip begins with the exhilarating wildlife adventure by boat. Keeping busy while you are exploring, your sea kayaking expedition guides have camp set up and dinner prepped at the remote island where you will begin your kayaking journey. After a delicious wilderness feast, enjoy an optional evening kayak before heading to your tent for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The next morning you begin 3 days paddling down the coast, seeking more encounters with wildlife. Kayaking in the Desolation Sound and Discovery Islands region, the remote islands along your route provide an escape into the British Columbia wilderness.

This trip is ideal for all adventurers with a good level of fitness.

    COASTAL CUISINE

We know how important food is when in the wilderness. We stock our boats with delicious, hearty, and plentiful food. FAQ´S

    1. Am I Guaranteed to See Whales on this trip?

We base our trip dates on historically good times to see Whales and other Wildlife in this area. Of course they are wild animals, so opportunities and frequency are left to them.

Your opportunities to see Orcas, Humpback Whales, Dolphins, and Bears begin from the moment you board the water to taxi to camp, to the sunrise, afternoon, and sunset paddles each day.

Whales and other wildlife often swim directly in front of our beach at Orca Camp, so even hanging out on the beach has possibilities for viewing wildlife.

    2. Do I need prior kayaking experience to join a tour?

No experience is required to participate in this kayaking tour. We do recommend that you are in good physical shape and enjoy being on the water. Our kayaks are stable, and safe to paddle. Wildcoast guides provide kayak instruction and safety procedures prior to your first launch, and give helpful tips while out kayaking.

    3. Can you provide vegetarian or special dietary options?

Yes we provide excellent alternates for guests requiring a special menu. These modifications don’t compromise on the quality, freshness, or portion sizing of each meal (this may require an additional fee to cover the menu modification costs for your specific dietary requirement).

    4. What is your maximum group size?

For this trip we have a maximum of 10 guests with 2 guides

    5. Do you provide all camping equipment at no extra cost?

On this trip, we equip you with high-quality tents and sleeping bags that are ideal for the climate and expedition kayak camping – at no extra cost. This is so we can be assured you are best outfitted for the climate and conditions. This also prevents our guests from having to travel to our location with cumbersome camping gear.

If you are traveling with a friend or partner we will have you share a tent. If you are a solo traveler you will get your own tent and not be “bunked” with a stranger.

We provide our kayak vacation guests with a durable dry bag to pack your personal items into, and answer any last-minute questions you might have, during your morning briefing.

Follow our helpful PACKING LIST below to be sure you come best prepared!

    6. WHAT ARE THE CAMPSITES LIKE?

The campsites are located in remote wilderness settings. Some of the campsites have sparse amenities. Tent locations may be uneven and the beaches are usually rocky. There are limited washroom facilities. Your guides will assist you to make this wilderness camping experience as comfortable as possible.
