Tour Details:

The Famous Tour + Alcatraz offers the perfect mix of San Francisco sightseeing and a visit to Alcatraz Island. Start your day with a guided city tour, visiting iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts, with plenty of photo stops along the way. Learn about the city’s history and culture as you explore the streets and neighborhoods.

Next, head to Muir Woods National Monument, where you’ll have 90 minutes to walk among the towering redwoods, experiencing the peaceful beauty of this ancient forest. Afterward, enjoy a scenic drive through Sausalito, offering stunning views of the bay and San Francisco’s skyline.

The tour concludes with a drop-off at Pier 33, where you’ll embark on a self-guided tour of Alcatraz Island. Explore the historic cellhouse, recreation yard, and other key areas of the prison at your own pace, with an audio tour that brings its fascinating history to life.

Morning – Famous City Tour

9:00 AM – City Tour

Your day begins with a 4-hour guided city tour from Fisherman’s Wharf. In a comfortable, climate-controlled mini bus, your guide will take you through San Francisco's most iconic neighborhoods and famous landmarks. Expect photo stops at spots like the Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of Fine Arts, and other scenic viewpoints.

Golden Gate Bridge & Muir Woods

 After your city tour, the bus will cross the Golden Gate Bridge on the way to Muir Woods National Monument. Here, you’ll have 90 minutes to explore the coastal redwoods at your own pace. Take a self-guided walk through the towering trees and tranquil forest trails.

Return to San Francisco

After Muir Woods, the tour will continue through the picturesque town of Sausalito, offering stunning views of the bay and San Francisco skyline. We’ll then drive back into San Francisco, where you’ll see additional city highlights and enjoy more photo stops.

Afternoon – Alcatraz Island

Alcatraz Tour

After the city tour and scenic drive, the bus will drop you off at Pier 33 for your scheduled Alcatraz ferry. Once on the island, you’ll enjoy a self-guided audio tour, exploring the former prison, the cellhouse, recreation yard, and other key sites on the island. The tour allows you to discover the history of this famous site at your own pace.

Return to San Francisco

After your visit to Alcatraz, you can return to San Francisco at your leisure via the ferry.
