Dead Horse Point Bike Tour: Ride Easy Trails with Epic Canyon Views Overlooking the Colorado River & Canyonlands
Ride one of Utah’s most scenic trails high above the Colorado River on the Dead Horse Point Singletrack Loop. This 10-mile moderate-to-intermediate ride delivers flowing singletrack, sweeping desert views, and breathtaking overlooks into Canyonlands National Park.
Pedal along the edge of the mesa at nearly 6,000 feet above sea level, where each curve of the trail reveals new perspectives of deep canyons and sculpted sandstone below. Feel the rhythm of the terrain beneath your tires and the cool desert breeze as your guide leads you across slickrock, packed dirt, and twisting turns carved through juniper and pinyon.
Meet at the Moab Adventure Center for pick-up; your guide will return you there once the ride is complete. The tour includes a $5 per person entrance fee to Dead Horse Point State Park.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this tour suitable for intermediate riders?
Yes. The Dead Horse Point ride follows 9 miles of flowing singletrack with moderate climbs and descents along the canyon rim. It’s best for riders who are comfortable on a bike and ready for some uneven desert terrain. You don’t need expert mountain biking skills, but you’ll need solid intermediate level skills to be comfortable on this ride. If you’re not sure you’re there yet, check out the Moab Brand Trails ride.
What’s included in the tour?
We provide a well-maintained mountain bike and helmet, plus round-trip shuttle service from downtown Moab to Dead Horse Point State Park. You’ll be guided by a professional who knows the trail inside and out. Riders should bring their own hydration pack or water bottle filled with water.
How long is the ride?
The tour is about 4.5 hours total, including shuttle time. Expect around 2–3 hours of actual riding, with breaks to rest, rehydrate, and enjoy the spectacular canyon views.
How far is the trailhead from Moab Adventure Center?
It’s about a 45-minute drive from downtown Moab to Dead Horse Point State Park. Your shuttle ride is included, so you can relax and enjoy the scenery on the way.
What age can kids join? Do you have youth bikes?
The minimum age is 12 years old for this tour, since the trail requires more stamina and bike-handling skills than our beginner ride. We do provide youth-sized bikes and helmets.
What if I am the only person to book on a bike tour?
There is a two guest minimum required for the daily per person rate. If there is a solo traveler they can pay a solo rider fee ($95) and the tour will still go. If other groups/persons book later we can remove the fee. If the guest does not want to pay the $95 solo rider fee to go out on their own, we are happy to reschedule the guest for a different day that other riders have booked or to cancel and fully refund the guest.
What should I wear or bring?
Wear athletic clothing, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Bring a hydration pack or water bottle filled with water. Hydration packs are available for purchase at Moab Adventure Center. Many riders also bring padded bike shorts and gloves for comfort, but they’re not required.
Do I need to be in great shape to enjoy this ride?
You don’t have to be a pro athlete, but you should be in moderate physical condition and comfortable riding a bike on dirt trails. The route includes some short climbs, rolling terrain, and uneven slickrock sections, but your guide will pace the ride so you can enjoy it.
Are bathrooms available?
