    • Full Day Kayaking with Whales

This full-day tour combines guided sea kayaking with whale watching in the wildlife-rich Discovery Islands.

To keep group sizes small, half the group will kayak in the morning before heading out for an afternoon of whale watching, while the other half will watch for whales first and paddle after lunch.

Whether you're in the kayak or on the boat’s open-air viewing deck, your day includes a relaxing onboard lunch and endless opportunities to spot whales, dolphins, seals, eagles, and local marine life under the guidance of an expert guide. No prior kayaking experience is needed!

This tour gives you two unique perspectives of the coast - the quiet, immersive exploration of kayaking and the broader wildlife viewing from the boat - all in one seamless full-day adventure.

    2. What is the minimum age for this tour?

The minimum age for the kayaking tour is 10 years old. One parent or responsible adult is required for each child 15 or under.

    3. Do I need kayaking experience?

No experience is required. Your guide will teach you everything you need to know to enjoy a safe and fun paddle.

    4. Do tours run in all types of weather?

Our tours go ahead regardless of the weather, but safety is always our top priority. In the event of extreme weather or high winds, tours may be canceled at the discretion of our qualified crew. If this happens, we’ll reach out to you directly.

If we’re unable to proceed with your scheduled tour due to weather, you will be contacted and given a full refund.

    5. What kayaks do you use?

We use sit-in sea kayaks, with both single and double options available so you can choose the style that works best for your adventure.

    6. Is kayaking gear included?

Absolutely! You’ll have everything you need - your kayak, paddle, spray skirt, life vest, and an experienced guide to lead you safely through the day. No experience is needed, and we make sure you’re comfortable from start to finish.

    7. Can I kayak with whales?

We aim to take you to areas where whales have been spotted, giving you the chance to experience the environment they inhabit and possibly viewing them from the kayak. Kayaking is a slower-paced activity, and whales often move quickly, so it’s not always possible to paddle alongside them. That’s why your tour also includes whale watching from a motorized boat, which allows you to follow the whales safely and comfortably.

We always follow Canadian regulations for kayaking and wildlife viewing, keeping a respectful distance of 100-200 m from all marine mammals depending on the species. Both kayak and boat portions follow those avoidance distances as well as our code of conduct for ethical whale and wildlife viewing - the well-being of the animals is our top priority, along with your safety throughout the trip.
