The city is full of fascinating places so wherever you hop off and explore, you’re sure to see something amazing, but we think you can’t miss the Puertas de la Tierra, which are part of the old city walls and today mark the boundary between the city’s historic centre and its more modern neighbourhoods.

Another great spot to hop off is Plaza de la Hispanidad, where you’ll be able to find the impressive monument to Spain’s constitution of 1812, known as La Pepa or the Constitution of Cádiz, which was signed in the city. The constitution was signed in Cádiz as it was one of the most secure cities in Spain at a time when parts of the country were still under French occupation.

If you need a break from the history and the amazing architecture, why not hop off at one of the city’s three fantastic beaches. La Caleta is right in the historic centre, and, summer or winter, it’s a great place to visit and to relax for a while. The beaches of Santa María and la Victoria, outside the old city centre are equally worth a visit, especially in summer.

Before you go

IMPORTANT: Admission to Cadiz cathedral is free for all children aged 11 & under. If you have a child who is between 7 and 11, you only need to buy them a bus ticket to enjoy this package. Children 0 - 6 can go on the bus and enter the cathedral for free.

Cathedral and Clock Tower

To enter the cathedral you must remain in front of the main door at (Monday to Saturday) 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30 and Sundays 14:00, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30. During July and August, Monday to Sunday at 19:00 and 19:45 and wait for the bus staff to give you preferential access to the monument. Inside, the visit will be self-guided with your own device through a QR code that will be provided at the entrance. The tour does not include a personal guide.

September 2nd to 15th: the last bus will depart from the main stop at 19:15.

After September 16th: the last bus will depart from the main stop at 17:00.
