Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge (pass by)

Your journey south crosses the Colorado River on the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, one of the highest concrete arch bridges in the world, standing nearly 900 feet above the river beside Hoover Dam. From the elevated seating of the coach, keep your camera ready as your guide points out the engineering marvel below. This is a crossing, not a stop, and one of the great moments of the drive.

Mojave Desert (pass by)

The route winds through the Mojave, a landscape of ancient Joshua trees, volcanic rock, and wide-open desert plains that shifts by the mile. Your step-on guide brings it to life along the way, from the hardy plants that survive out here to the history written into the terrain, turning the miles between Las Vegas and the canyon into part of the show.

Historic Route 66 (pass by)

The drive east follows the corridor of America's most famous highway. You'll roll along a stretch of historic Route 66 itself, and for miles the original Mother Road runs visibly alongside the interstate, the same pavement that carried generations of travelers west. Your guide shares the story of the road that defined the American road trip as it unfolds outside your window.

Grand Canyon National Park (3 hours)

Enter the national park and begin three full hours at the South Rim, including lunch served right at the rim overlooking the canyon (weather permitting).

Mather Point (45 minutes)

Step up to the canyon's most celebrated first look. A short, easy walk along the paved rim path brings you to Mather Point, where the canyon opens up in a sweeping panorama of layered red, gold, and violet rock stretching to the horizon, with views plunging a mile down toward the Colorado River. This is the postcard view, and the moment most travelers describe as the one that stopped them in their tracks.

Bright Angel Trailhead (45 minutes)

Continue along the rim to the top of the legendary Bright Angel Trail, the century-old route that switchbacks a vertical mile down toward the Colorado River. From the overlook, watch hikers and mule trains work their way along the switchbacks far below, the single best way to grasp the true scale of the canyon.

Grand Canyon Village (30 minutes)

Steps from the trailhead, explore the historic heart of the South Rim. Browse for unique souvenirs inside Bright Angel Lodge, a 1930s landmark designed by famed architect Mary Colter, and take in the architecture of the canyon's golden age, when the railroad first brought travelers to the rim.

Colorado River crossing (pass by)

Your return to Las Vegas crosses the Colorado River once more on the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, nearly 900 feet above the water that carved the Grand Canyon itself. Catch a final glimpse of the river gorge in the late-day light as your guide wraps up the story of the Southwest's great waterway, then sit back and relax for the comfortable ride home.

Las Vegas Strip (drop-off)

Arrive back on the Las Vegas Strip, where your day concludes with drop-off at Treasure Island, Park MGM, or Excalibur, all centrally located for an easy return to your hotel
